Attendances at worldwide conferences, coupled with invites to lecture at executive symposiums as well as the Law Society of Upper Canada have been key to his success over the years.

Under Bob's direction, Berkeley’s team of expert Investigators conduct confidential inquiries into suspect activities. The need for discretion in these inquiries is paramount. Premature disclosure or inexpert investigations can alert the offenders, undermine the organization's day-to-day operations and provoke legal action by those under suspicion.

Prior to commencing operation of Berkeley International Intelligence Inc., Bob was "Manager of Internal Investigations" for a large downtown Toronto litigation law firm.


In this capacity his responsibilities included the complete management of civil and criminal files from an investigation standpoint, providing briefings to the firm’s Partners and Associate Lawyers handling the matters, assisting them with the preparation for discoveries, hearings and / or trials.


Bob attended and assisted at hearings, trials and inquests, providing expert testimony and subsequently making recommendations for follow-up inquiries and ongoing strategy. 3.


Achievements & Responsibilities - 1977 To Present:


Bob planned and launched startup of an Investigative & Security Consulting enterprise, specializing in the detection and investigation of corporate crimes at all levels, conferring with senior management of client organizations, their in-house and / or outside legal counsel, as well as financial advisors to discuss the issues at hand, exploring and recommending solutions.


Bob has been called upon to design and implement security and administrative systems, procedures and controls for corporate clients, to protect personnel, property and assets. Also, Corporate Human Resource ( HR ) Management call upon Berkeley to assist with recruiting, screening, training, supervising, motivating and disciplining personnel, as well as overseeing the development and implementation of HR "policies and guidelines", which include sections on the proper handling of “workplace investigations” as they relate to all forms of "harassment & bullying”.


In the event an employee is being dismissed “for cause”, Bob frequently attends during the final interview and exit process, to protect the interests of the corporation.

As "corporate security advisors", Berkeley serves as the "first line of contact" for all levels of management when internal / external problems surface and they’re deemed to be a threat to the security or integrity of the organization. Berkeley investigates and makes the appropriate recommendations to reduce or eliminate any potential risk to personnel, property and assets.


Berkeley’s team conducts discreet investigations, working closely with Crown Prosecutors, Law Enforcement Officials and Corporate Legal Counsel, testifying during court proceedings, prosecuting individuals and / or corporations deemed responsible for "civil & criminal code violations" that in any way caused the client to suffer damages to personnel, property or assets.


Bob also protects the clients' interests in connection with their "growth activities", when considering "acquisitions" of other companies, or the possible "merger" with other corporations in certain business ventures. Vital background information is provided on the key management and operations of the “target company” in question. This information enables more effective strategic planning, by offering critical insight into such matters as; character and intentions of the opposing group, past acquisition tactics, nondisclosure of material facts and any potential legal and regulatory compliance issues.


Special Appointment:


Bob was appointed and served as a member of the "Crime Prevention Committee" for The Town of Markham, Ontario, the "High Tech. Capital of Canada”.


There were eighteen ( 18 ) Committee members, comprised of business owners, members of York Regional Police Department, members of Town Council and the Mayor of Markham. The Committee's mandate is to contribute to the reduction of crime within the Town of Markham, which includes criminal activity on the streets, home invasions and business crimes.


The Committee provides a common forum for dialogue between various organizations and promotes a constructive liaison between the Town of Markham and all safety and prevention organizations, as well as the York Regional Police Department and the Town's citizens.


The Committee has alliances with other Municipal Crime Prevention organizations & Committees throughout the country, and also acts as a liaison with various boards of education, elementary & secondary schools, religious organizations and the Mayor's "Youth Task Force".
